Sector K9 Foundation - Rescue2Resource Program

This program is our mission, it allows us to rescue the very elite dogs from shelters/rescue organizations around the country! These dogs must pass a series of tests and are vetted for the characteristics, temperament, and genetic drives necessary to become a narcotics detection and/or tracking police K9. The program also provides a positive solution to the abandoned and unadaptable dog pandemic in our country.

Our Programs

At Sector K9, our mission is to provide free, accurate, and reliable training for Police K9s, their handlers, and departments. We proudly serve municipal, county, and school district law-enforcement agencies nationwide, prioritizing honesty and integrity in all our client interactions to meet their individual needs.

Rescue2Resource Program

Sector K9 partners with multiple animal shelters and rescue groups around the USA to carefully select dogs that possess the natural genetic drive and characteristics to become police detection Sector K9s. The program is available to any and all law-enforcement agencies throughout the USA, including, but not limited to, patrol officers, school resource officers, task force officers, and criminal interdiction officers.

Patrol Dog Program

We uniquely select dogs for our patrol dog program based on each individual handler, utilizing our law-enforcement experience along with our experience as police canine handlers. We, along with the handler, carefully select the right dog for each handler. This ensures the success of each team.

Training

We provide many different training solutions, including handler courses, certification, recertification through a nationally recognized organization, individual Sector K9 team development, and continued education.

What We Do

We utilize the highest qualities and standard of training in all aspects of police K9. Our dogs are trained by professional police K9 handlers who have actually been on the street and understand what it takes to be a professional police K9 handler. Given our experience, we train dogs and handlers as a team. We believe training the dog is only one part, while training the handler is even more important. Without a properly trained handler, your department will not have a successful K9 unit.

We rescue unadoptable dogs from shelters and rescue organizations around the country.

Once at our facility, they are trained for single purpose narcotics detection and/or tracking, obedience, and prepared to partner with a handler.

Upon completing training, the dogs are donated to selected law-enforcement agencies across the nation.

Patrol Dog Program

Our mission at Sector K9 is to provide free, reliable, independent training for police canines, canine handlers, and law-enforcement agencies.

This program also requires a mandatory two-week bonding period prior to the four-week handler course. This allows the dog and handler to become partners prior to the handler course and training together.

Rescue2Resource Program

This program embodies our mission, which enables us to rescue exceptional dogs from shelters and rescue organizations nationwide. These dogs undergo a rigorous series of tests and are carefully assessed for the essential characteristics, temperament, and genetic drives required to excel as narcotics detection and/or tracking police K9s.

Additionally, this initiative serves as a positive solution to address the challenges posed by the abandoned and unadaptable dog pandemic in our country.

Testimonials.

I participated in the rescue2recourse program in 2020 and was paired with K9 Ace who went on to become the first rescue “Pitbull” to work on the street in Pennsylvania history. Sector K9 head trainer/ president, Wes Keeling was instrumental in building our new K-9 unit as well as his staff. Wes took the time to communicate with me as a new and inexperienced handler and paired me with the perfect K-9 to match my personality and supplement my strengths. Wes not only trained me as a handler he also trained Ace who was acquired from a local shelter and scheduled to be euthanized. Sector K9 is a first-class organization and has provided me with endless support after the fact even for the smallest issue or question. The implementation of our rescue K-9 unit has led to numerous deployments and seizures (narcotics and firearms). Our program is also a fantastic benefit to the department’s relationship with our community. Since 2020, I have now become a K9 trainer through Sector K-9 and was able to pull K-9 Jack from a local shelter who is now a certified firearms detection K-9 and the second rescue “Pitbull” to work on the street in Pennsylvania history. This is the result of the hands on, quality training received from Sector K-9. I highly recommend using them if you are looking for a working dog!

Great experience learning a progressive training style that builds a partnership between the handler and the dog. Being able to be a part of the process and learning how to observe issues and correct those issues helps develop you into a subject matter expert. Also seeing how your partnership was in the beginning to where it can be at the end was a real eye opening experience showing you that the training style works. The team at Sector K9 was personable and willing to help no matter what and Wes showed true patience with all handlers and dogs involved. There was a minor issue with an aspect of patrol apprehension with my partner and Wes was willing to do what needed to be done to make it right. Great training and I feel apart of the Sector K9 Foundation family now.

Commerce Police Department.

Even though Harlow is retired and is just a fat and happy house dog now, we still share our training and story about Sector K9 every chance we get. Harlow not only searched and found many drugs and drug paraphernalia, but he also mended hearts and filled the gap between middle school aged kids and law enforcement. Whether he put on his therapy cap for a kid having a hard day, or put on the working cap to keep the school clean, he knew how to flip the switch quickly and easily. The only person that I can give credit for that is Mr. Wes Keeling at Sector K9! We enjoyed every bit of training (Harlow was already top notch, I needed the training) with Sector K9 and would go back in a heartbeat if we could. Thank you Sector K9 for giving Harlow a second chance at life and for giving us everything we needed to keep our school, and community safe!
